  • D23 Expo Recap (Part 3)

On day three of the Expo, I was able to meet my two favorite Disney blonds, Tiffany Thornton and Chelsea Staub!

Tiffany Thornton at the D23 Expo

I don’t know how I was able to breathe, let alone talk, while in Tiffany’s presence. She is just one of the most amazing people, well, ever. I was able to tell her about TiffanyThornton.us and Sonny-with-a-Chance.com!

Chelsea Staub at the D23 Expo

I can’t remember meeting Chelsea very well, as I was still stunned from meeting Tiffany only moments earlier. But I know I was able to tell her about ChelseaStaub.ws and that I loved her in Minute Men.

Prior to the signing, Chelsea and Tiffany had an audience Q&A session at the Radio disney booth. The full Q&A was some 40 minutes, and I was able to sneak a little bit of video for you all. πŸ™‚

This first one is about what to expect on SWAC and JONAS.

This one was what happened when a really little girl asked about promice rings – and why neither Tiffany or Chelsea have one.

And this last one is about how each got her start in Hollywood. Watch for when Tiffany exclaims “What the Heck!?” πŸ™‚

You’ll find a lot more pictures from Saturday in the DC Fans gallery and be sure to visit my youtube for more videos.

  • D23 Expo Recap (Part 1)

Okay, so it’s been real quiet around here the past few days because I was at the D23 Expo from Thursday through Sunday. I was tweeting the whole time, and you can still find those comments on my twitter (@anitrain).

Among other things, I had the honor of meeting Debby Ryan! I even got to tellΒ  her about my Debby fansite DebbyRyan.net

    Webmaster Greg and Debby Ryan

On Saturday, I got to meet the fabulous Tiffany Thornton and the lovely Chelsea Staub. I told Tiff about my fansite TiffanyThornton.us and my SWAC fansite Sonny-With-A-Chance.com. She said the was gonna check them out! πŸ™‚

I met a lot of other cool people, like Nicole Anderson, Doug Brochu, and Cody Linley. I didn’t have websites just for them, so I told them about DC Fans and Save Disney Shows.

    Nicole Anderson

And I didn’t get to meet Selena Gomez, but I did get to see her in person at the Wizards panel in the arena!

Besides all the Disney Channel stuff, I saw presentations and sneak peaks of Disney’s upcoming live action and film projects, new developments for the theme parks (which included Darth Vader demanding that the new Star Tours attraction open no later than 2011. And he brought storm troopers).

I even met and got the autograph of Disney Legend Mary Costa, the voice of princess Aurora!

It was really an unbelievable experience. I’ve uploaded photos and videos from the event to my new Disney events website SoCal Disney And I’ll post more of the Disney Channel stuff here over the next couple days.

  • Debby Ryan @ The D23 Expo!

OMG! I get to see Debby too!

She just posted on her twitter: “I’m gonna be hanging out at D-23 at the Anaheim Convention Center this Thursday, autographs from 2-3pm. Come on by if you want a scribble!”

And this solves the great mystery of who from Disney Channel will be at the 23 Expo on Thursday. Well, I suppose someone else could join her, but now at least I know I need to get over there on Thursday. πŸ™‚

I’m so excited! Just over a day left until it’s time! πŸ˜€

  • Tiffany Thornton & Chelsea Staub @ The D23 Expo!

I am so excited that I will get to see Tiffany Thornton & Chelsea Staub at The D23 Expo this Saturday!

Original reports said that they would be there on Sunday (the day of the Wizards event) so I thought I would miss them.

As most of you know, I love Tiffany. She does such a great job as Tawni, and she’s cute as heck. Plus, she’s 23! πŸ™‚

    Tiffany Thornton

I like Chelsea Staub too, but not enough to watch JONAS. If she was on a show I’d watch, I’d probably like her even more.

    Chelsea Staub

There are also supposed to be other DC stars at the expo on Thursday, but I don’t let know who they will be.

Be sure to keep an eye on my D23 Expo website for news, photos, and updates from the Expo! πŸ™‚

  • The Drop with Mandy Moore

So I hadn’t heard of the Grammy Museum or LA live before. I hadn’t even heard that they where building a huge new entertainment complex next to the Staples center. Now admitingly I don’t make it up that way very often (I think the last time was in 2004!) but I still thought I’d have heard of it.

Anyway, I was there on Thursday (06/11/09) to see Mandy Moore. But before I headed over to the venue, I decided to swing by Disneyland. I only had a couple hours at the parks, so I decided to spend it at DCA. Quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever done, for unbeknownst to me, Selena Gomez was at Disneyland that day! In fact, had I simply checked twitter on my phone when I arrived, I’d have seen her tweet about eating a pickle at Disneyland: “I ate a pickle, ice cream, fries, corn dog, and corn at Disneyland. Hmm now what else is there to do here? Oh. I guess I could ride rides…”

But sadly, I did not check my twitter. As I got onto the tram several tween boys where seated right in front of me. And my ears perked up when I heard one of them mention Selena. Another clarified, “Selena Gomez, that girl from Camp Rock” Ar which point I realized that if they couldn’t keep Demi and Selena straight, they where probably idiots and tuned them out. Had I instead corrected them, I might have learned why they where taking about Selena.

I arrived at the Grammy Museum with a good hour to spare. And was the 15th or so person in line. Not too bad if I say so myself. πŸ™‚ As I stood outside the venue I pulled out my blackberry and checked Twitter. Once I saw Selena’s tweet, suddenly everything made sense and I quickly realized I had missed a possibly once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean, how often does one actually get the chance to meet a DC star? Even with SDS resources I had only met Amy.

Needless to say, I was bummed. But then I remembered I was 15th in line to see Mandy Moore. And I realized that this day was still gonna be beyond awesome. As the line grew longer, they took us inside the building, up to the second level, and into the theater. I end up in the front row of seats, which meant that there was both no on in front of me, and because we where sitting, that no one behind me would complain about my height. πŸ™‚

    Mandy Moore: The Drop

The event was called “The Drop” in reference to the familiar phrase that signifies the release of the new album. The idea behind it, was to explore the process of creating the album. So we started with a rougly hour long interview and Q&A with the director of the Grammy Museum and Mandy Moore. Mandy told us a lot about Mike Viola who was in many ways her partner in producing this album. She had many great stories about the little house in Boston, and how they used the different acoustics of just about every room in the house on different parts on the album.

Following the end of the Q&A, Mandy preformed several songs acoustically, accompanied by Mike who had been hiding in the back the whole time. πŸ™‚

Finally, following the end of her performance, Mandy autographed copies of her new CD. Sadly, the no photo rule was still in effect but I did get a moment with her and an autograph. πŸ™‚
