  • Cher Lloyd at the LA County Fair

As I had recently mentioned, I went to see Cher Lloyd and Bridgit Mendler at the LA County Fair this past Saturday September 15th 2012. I went primarily to see Bridgit, but Cher put on a great show as well. She sang a total of seven songs, including one cover and six songs from her UK album. I’m not terribly familiar with the British songstress, but I like her single “Want U Back” and I plan on checking out her US Album Sticks & Stones when it drops next month.

  • Bridgit Mendler at the LA County Fair

Bridgit Mendler has been doing a lot of promotion for her upcoming album Hello My Name Is… including that special appearance at Extrapalooza, and then this past Saturday her first ever public concert in the LA area with Cher Lloyd at the LA County Fair in Pomona.

  • Jasmine Villegas at the Temecula Mall

Well, Saturday 9/15/12 was certainly a fun day! The fabulous Jasmine V and her brother Jream Andrew came to town for a free concert and meet and greet sponsored by AT&T’s anti-txting-while-driving campaign#itcanwait.

Jasmine Villegas and me at the Temecula Mall

As you can see, I got to meet her again. She’s clearly gotten even prettier. I won’t comment on myself. xD Oh, and this time I got an autograph too. That was cool. 🙂

Her and her brother did a few songs for us. She pulled a girl on stage to do the dance for Werk with her and, well, she did a great job. I was shocked just how in sync they were!

  • Bella Thorne Meet and Greet at Victoria Gardens

    It’s been a busy week!

Bella Thorne Meet and Greet at Victoria Gardens

On August 11th, Teen Vogue organized a series of “Back to School” events at malls across the united states featuring Ross Lynch, Bailee Madison, Drew Seeley, Cher Lloyd, Shay Mitchell, Peyton List, Matt Johnson, and Jasmine Villegas to name a few.

Bella Thorne Meet and Greet at Victoria Gardens

Oh, and lets not forget Shake it Up‘s Bella Thorne who was at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

And it’s about time the Inland Empire got a little love. These sorts of events always seem to be confined to the greater Los Angeles area.

Bella Thorne Meet and Greet at Victoria Gardens

So of course I had to go and show my support.

Bella Thorne Meet and Greet at Victoria Gardens

As you can see, Radio Disney was on hand for the brief Q&A session.

And we learned that Bella’s favorite princess is Belle, because “[She’s] named after her.”

And… that’s about it. I gave Bella a Save Disney Shows bracelet and got a quick autograph.

I was about 14th in line, so I ended up right in front of the stage.

  • Disney at The LA County Fair

Last Saturday was Nickelodeon superstar Victoria Justice’s big night with her first ever public concert at the LA County Fair.

But that’s hardly all that was going on at the fair that day. For starters, Radio Disney brought Shane Harper (Good Luck Charlie) for a free show and meet and greet earlier that same day.

Not only that, but Radio Disney’s NBT winners Kicking Daises were Victoria’s opening act. And they certainly delivered! (More videos posted over on the DC Fans Blog)

But not only that, Disney Channel’s Roshon Fegan (Shake it Up) and Allisyn Ashley Arm (So Random) were on hand to introduce the opening act. Here’s a picture of all of them together.

And if by chance you would like to see more about Miss Justice, please visit Nick Girls for a lot more about her (including a few videos). 🙂

  • My Selena Gomez Concert (Part 1)

So I finally got to see Selena sing! Through some rather unfortunate circumstances, I ended up missing her show in Anaheim last year, and it took almost a year for her to schedule another show in SoCal. Of course, I did get to meet her on the set if Wizards back in February, so I guess it all worked out.

Selena Gomez Concert - Sold Out!

Anyway, Selena Gomez and The Scene performed a sold out show at the LA County Fair on yesterday night (September 18th, 2010) in Pomona, CA.

Selena Gomez Concert - On Stage

Selena sang quite a few of her own songs – “Round and Round”, “A Year Without Rain“, “Off The Chain”, “Naturally”, “Magic”, etc. She also mixed it up with some covers of Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me”, Weezer’s “Island in the Sun”, Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold”, Pat Benetar’s “Love is a Battlefield”, and Jason Derulo’s “In My Head”!

Selena Gomez Concert - Full Stage

I recorded every song except for “Crush” when I had some, err, technical difficulties. Let me just say I’m glad I had a second battery for my camera!

And remember, Selena’s new album A Year Without Rain releases next Tuesday! Be sure to get your copy! 🙂

  • My Emily Osment Concert (Part 2)

I uploaded the photos from Emily Osment’s Wal-Mart Concert (10/01/09) last night, and the videos are now uploaded as well. 🙂

Click Here for all the Emily Osment Concert Videos.

I was able to record all six of her new songs from her upcoming EP:

    You Are The Only One
    All The Way Up
    Found Out About You
    Average Girl
    What About Me
    I Hate The Homecoming Queen

She also did a cover of one of her favorite songs, “High and Dry” by Radiohead. I was only able to catch just over half of that due to an issue with the camera.

  • My Emily Osment Concert (Part 1)

I know, I haven’t finished my Miley concert review from last week, but i went to see Emily today (or rather yesterday 10/01/09 now) and I just had to get these photos up!

    She looked absolutely amazing!

Okay, so light clothing against a black background isn’t the best setup for photos, but I did what I could.

Emily Osment & Ashlyne Huff Concert at Wal-Mart

Her show was to promote her new EP “All the Right Wrongs” which is being released later this month. She preformed all six songs from the EP and a cover of a Radiohead song.

Emily Osment & Ashlyne Huff Concert at Wal-Mart

She was very impressive, despite the fact that I didn’t know any of her songs except “Falling Down.”

The concert was free and in the parking lot of the San Jacinto Wal-Mart.

Also preforming was Ashlyne Huff, who opened for Emily.

Emily Osment & Ashlyne Huff Concert at Wal-Mart

Emily and Ashlyne signed autographs after the event, but with some 3,000 people there, the line was just too long to get to meet her. But Emily did walk right past me in the store, flanked by security!

Videos from the event are still uploading. If you head over to my twitter you can find the links as YouTube processes them.

Or if that’s too much work, just stay tuned and for my next post about the concert. 🙂

UPDATE: Concert Videos are now posted, and read my final thoughts on the show.

  • Article: Disney magic comes to Hemet museum

    Source: The Press Enterprise

Disney experts told inside stories about the company’s founder, his Anaheim theme park and the making of “Mary Poppins” at the Western Center for Archeology and Paleontology.

The occasion was a preview of “The Music Behind the Magic: Disney 1928-Today,” opening today.

The exhibit features Disney memorabilia from cartoons, live-action films, TV and Broadway, as well as several interactive features.

Museum officials say hosting a pop culture exhibit will help expose children to its scientific content as well.

Four Disney fans who became company staffers met with guests and engaged in an hour-long Q&A.

Panelists at the Thursday event included:

    Disney records producer Randy Thornton

Disney artist and historian Stacia Martin

Historian and DVD producer Les Perkins

    Artist and composer Alexander Rannie

All joined the company after Walt Disney’s death in 1966. But they have accumulated a wealth of knowledge about him and his company.

    Among the tales they shared:

Walt Disney would rummage through his staff’s trash cans over the weekend to look for discarded ideas. One salvaged idea became “The Ballad of Davey Crockett.”

Working with Disney could be stressful to his staff.

“If Walt came into the studio in a bad mood, the security guard would call to the secretary and let people know. ‘He’s wearing the bear suit today,’ ” Thornton said. “Then they would know to kind of give Walt some room and let him go. … a page would run usually through the place going ‘Man is in the forest! Man is in the forest!’ ”

The Sherman brothers, who created the score for “Mary Poppins,” wrote twice as many songs as made it into the movie.

The song “A Spoonful of Sugar” was inspired by the Salk vaccine.

Glynnis Johns, who played Mrs. Banks, was convinced she was hired to play the title role. They had to come up with a number on the fly to compensate.

There isn’t a network of tunnels under Disneyland. Martin, who is based at the park, said there is one master throughway. She said Florida’s Walt Disney World has a huge underground of “utilidors.”

Fantasia ice cream is still available in an ice cream shop on the east side of Main Street. The treat had been popular at the now-closed Carnation Plaza Gardens.

The office building where Thornton works has a kitchenette called Kitch-Annette, in honor of Annette Funicello, who was as big a pop culture icon in the ’60s as Miley Cyrus is today.

The panelists say the Disney corporation has a growing respect for its heritage, an issue that has been in the news this week with today’s reopening of Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World.” The ride features revisions from its original concept, including tie-ins to Disney movies.

Thornton said the criticism is overblown.

“You hear people talk about, ‘I don’t think Walt would like this,’ or ‘I don’t think Walt would like that.’ You have no idea what Walt would want! No clue whatsoever! Because the people that worked with him day in and day out didn’t know what Walt wanted. Walt didn’t know what he wanted ’til he wanted it.”
